 Crossroads Trail Run/Walk 2K,5K,10K
Saturday, June 23, 2018. 8 am. Located on a 200-acre preserve, Crossroads Trail Run is chip-timed and for competitive and recreational runners/walkers of all ages. This well-marked course includes wooden bridge crossings, meadow meanderings, and evergreen cathedrals. Participants receive a performance T-shirt, a native tree, and locally produced refreshments. Crossroads Trail Run is a family event. Participants 7younger and 70 up register for free. For the first two days of camp, students learn firsthand from Trek bicycle designers how to design bikes, helmets, jerseys, shoes, and more. On the final day of camp students load the bus to tour Trek's world headquarters in Waterloo to see it all come together. Through the lens of theater, young people learn to view reality afresh, to revise prejudices, to reflect on the consequences of personal behavior, and to see differences from many points of view. Theater exercises are intended to develop poise, confidence, voice, movement, basic theatrical terminology and practices, and an understanding of a play's characters. Friday, April 20, 2018 through Saturday, June 30, 2018. 4-6pm. Opening Reception at Tivoli is April 20th from 4-6pm. Robert attended Madison College in his 20s to pursue a degree in Commercial Art. During college, he found his passion for figure drawing and working with charcoal. In 2009, Robert drew his best friend in charcoal. His India ink drawings are a creative curvature study of light and shadows, while his unique approach to charcoal drawings is comprised of erasing the image from a paper that is covered in black charcoal.  Karen Johnson Boyd: From the Vault
Friday, August 4, 2017 through Friday, July 27, 2018. Karen Johnson Boyd was an advocate for and collector of art who had a strong affinity for contemporary American craft. This Windows on 5th installation pays homage to her role in establishing RAM's craft collection by featuring large-scale ceramic work that she donated to the museum over the years. With works presented as if being pulled from crates or out of storage, this exhibition offers a playful take on building a collection, honoring a donor, and managing works of art.
