Sunday, June 9, 2019. 1 pm to 4 pm. Spend an enjoyable Sunday afternoon at the Richfield Historical Park by visiting historic buildings and learning how day-to-day duties were done long ago. Be sure to arrive early enough to visit all the buildings. Buildings open: Blacksmith Shop, Sugar Shack, Long House and Log Barn. Engaging activities for all ages. $5, children 5 and under FREE. Discover architectural details, learn the meanings behind the symbolism, and trace the construction of the Old Courthouse and Sheriff's Residence and Jail, local and national landmarks. Climb to the balcony level of the Old Courthouse tower and see features rarely seen by the public. Patrons must wear sensible shoes and be able to climb steep stairs (109 steps from 1st to 6th floor). $12/WCHS members, $15/non-member. Monday, July 15, 2019. 9 am - 3 pm. Learn about mummies, pyramids, and the people who lived in Egypt at the time of the pharaohs! Hands-on activities will include making a mummy case and mask, and writing a message in hieroglyphics. Cancellations prior to June 28 will receive a full refund minus a $40 cancellation fee. Tuesday, July 16, 2019. 9 am - 3 pm. Explore MVAC's Archaeology Lab and work with artifacts recovered from area excavations as an introduction to the science of archaeology. Students must take this class in order to attend the Middle School Field Experience. This program is for students entering grades 5-9.  Father Rehrl's Rectory & Exhibit Open
Wednesday, July 17, 2019. 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Built in 1856, it was here that the Sisters of St. Agnes managed one of the first schools in Washington County, educating children of all denominations. Within the fieldstone rectory of Father Caper Rehrl, the exhibit "From Mound Builders to Church Builders" highlights the triumph of survival over inexperience on the Wisconsin frontier.  Summer Concert at Jacobs House

As part of the summer concert series at homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, there will be a concert at the Jacobs House featuring Dawn Lawler on flute and Mary Ann Harr playing the harp. Guests will receive a tour from Susan Jacobs Lockhart, who lived in the home as a young girl. All proceeds from this event will go toward the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. Monday, July 15, 2019 through Wednesday, July 17, 2019. 9 am - 5 pm; 7 am - 3:30 pm. This multi-day field and lab experience is a well-rounded opportunity for those who want to learn about the process of archaeology. Work alongside professional archaeologists on an actual archaeological excavation and survey work. Optional lab hours and local field trips will be available after regular field school hours. No previous experience is necessary. High-school students through adults. Fee includes a one-year MVAC membership. Participants will work alongside professional archaeologists in the field. Weather may require other activities. For students entering grades 5-9.
